Where in the World are Chris and Natalie?

Sa wat dee!!

We have moved out of Laos and into Thailand by...let's see...bus, train and ferry. It has been awhile so I wanted to quickly jump on a computer and update everyone on where we are now and where we are headed, as there have been a few changes.

Sadly, we are no longer traveling to Cambodia, however, we have happily added Bali, Indonesia of places to be/see :) thanks to Papa and Mama K for graciously giving us some time share points to live it up and rest it up at Jimbaran Bay which is on the southern peninsula of Bali. But we can tell you more about it when we are actually there...

Anyways...because of this change in itinerary we had to figure out how to make our way to Bangkok for our flight to Bali, fairly quickly and inexpensively. I will leave the ranting of our interesting transportation to Chris (as he rants so beautifully). Anyways, we decided that the best course of action would be to take a bus from Vientiane, Laos and cross the border to land in Khon kaen, Thailand. (this will be another rant for Chris as Khon kaen was not the greatest place to say the least) After a night there, we took yet another bus that was headed to Bangkok but dropped us off on the side of the street next to the Khao Yai factory mall (who knew right?) to be picked up by a tuk tuk and taken to the greenleaf guesthouse in Pak Chong which would serve as our home for the next 3 days while we took a tour or more what felt like a wildlife safari at Khao Yai National Park during that time. Lastly, we woke up this morning to be taken by tuk tuk to the train station where we took the 3rd class train (where i sat to arguably the cutest thai baby I have ever seen) to our final destination (so far)...Ayuthaya. ahhhh **that whole "update" made my lil fingers tired and not to mention my head reliving all of it. But there you have it...where in the world are Chris and Natalie??...Ayuthaya, Thailand.

We are missing quite a few posts (all of our time in Laos) so we will update what we did and saw there as soon as we can, but you can check pictures out from Luang Prabang, Laos on our photobucket to whet your natalie/chris blog appetite if you would like:

  1. Great to hear "where in the world" you two are! Love the pics of the Laotian cooks! I hope that we will get to sample some of your cuisine when you return. Be safe traveling to Bali - and enjoy a relaxing retreat. I am sure it will be amazing!! The red rock of Sedona was beautiful, but oh so hot! We returned to Cbad to cool off! Happy 4th of July - love, Mama K
